Rick Watkins formed Watkins & Company, Inc. in 1990 after obtaining his real estate salespersons license and working in real estate for more than 15 years. His experience includes most facets of commercial real estate development, brokerage and planning. Rick holds ownership positions in a majority of the projects developed or under development. While the company mission is stated to be "long term ownership of high quality warehouse and industrial properties," Rick has also been involved in retail, multi-family, office, residential, entertainment and master planned communities. Rick recently completed renovation of a historic structure utilizing historic tax credits and tax increment financing. His ability to understand complex real estate developments has been well demonstrated.

Rick has completed the CCIM coursework, is a member of ULI and a developer associate of SIOR. Prior to his emphasis in development, he was consistently a top producer as a commercial real estate broker and named Top Real Estate Agent in Johnson County in 1987. Rick is a board member of the Downtown Council and the AirWorld Property Owners Association while also being a member of the Southwest Johnson County EDC, the Platte County EDC and SmartPort.
